Hoping for an un-announced or surprise debut. The lineup is looking rather dull so far. The NSX and Ford GT blew away the show last year. 90% of the list we've either seen revealed significantly, have very revealing spyshots of, or are predictable production versions of concepts.

The Lexus LC500 looks like the most exciting one so far.

I would add the Chevy Bolt to the list. Although technically it debuts at CES, NAIAS (assuming it shows up there) would be it's debut to the automotive world and the general public.

Here's the press conference schedule:

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/official-naias-press-conference-schedule-released-300008065.html

Kia will almost surely be Cadenza; "Hyundai" will likely be the introduction of the Genesis brand and the first US showing of the G90.

Infiniti should also be showing their new coupe, which will be the star of their press conference.

I'm really, really curious as to what VW will show--LWB Tiguan, maybe?

Nissan may be the new Leaf. Or it could be a refreshed Pathfinder. One is clearly more exciting than the other. :P

I bet Alfa Romeo is the long-awaited SUV, probably in concept form.

I wonder if Toyota is going to show the new Sienna minivan.

I don't know why MINI is listed as having a press conference, considering they're not having a display, and said they were skipping the show.

I have no idea what Bentley, Cadillac or Ram might be doing.

Yes, the show is looking incredibly dull. It's the first one I won't be attending in over five years, and I'm not worried about missing a thing. :D

yeah I'm thinking about making the drive again from Pittsburgh and making a weekend out of it this time around but I'm not sure. Parents are about to start shopping for a new car though.

If anything, a bit dull for debuts, but if the alfa suv concept is real, looking forwards to seeing what it could look like.

There's several debuts that I'm looking forward to, and among them is the new production Lincoln Continental. Also, according to some reports, Buick is likely to have a surprise (like last year with the Avenir concept). The USA-version of the Envision crossover is not the surprise, and it's expected. Some say that Buick's surprise could be either a production Avenir, or something pointing the way to to next-generation Enclave. Although both are nice, I'm hoping for a production Avenir, for GM has the goods, and the Omega chassis for it, and it would even more so justify development costs. I know that the Omega will underpin a larger Cadillac flagship coming up (CT8?) and perhaps a large crossover/SUV to bridge the gap between the XT5 and Escalade. I understand that for I've seen reports somewhere that Cadillac is not getting a (next-generation) Lambda, and the division want to expand on the lucrative SUV segment much more.

The other "surprise" could also easily be the new Verano, considering the Chinese-market version was revealed months ago.

A mid engine concept from GM maybe (Corvette/Cadillac)?

If that's the case, then it's a bit of a let-down. I would hope for a production Avenir the most. I would also love to see an next-generation Enclave.

If it's not the Verano it's got to be a concept. We would've seen spyshots of either the Avenir or Enclave by now if either production model was going to show up.

It could be the Regal. The new Opel Insignia has already been photographed several times.

In other NAIAS news I think the big surprise could come from Chevy. GM has filed a trademark for "Corvette E-Ray" (http://www.autoevolution.com/news/chevrolet-trademarks-e-ray-is-the-corvette-going-electric-103152.html#agal_0). The logical assumption is that this is some sort of hybrid/electric Corvette. It makes a lot of sense as BMW, Porsche, and Acura are already exploring electrified performance cars and Chevy would not want to get left behind. It would explain the existence of this mule (http://www.caranddriver.com/news/exclusive-mid-engine-c8-chevrolet-corvette-first-photos-news). It would also explain why GM was able to easily and publicly deny the press reports of the upcoming mid-engine Corvette "Zora" (http://www.automobilemag.com/features/columns/1503-is-the-mid-engine-c8-corvette-zora-chevrolet-or-cadillac/), because it wasn't a "Zora", it was an "E-Ray". The debut of an electrified mid-engine Corvette could set NAIAS on fire, figuratively, and maybe even literally if there's a problem with the battery.

Rumored debut for the Chevy Cruze hatchback (http://www.worldcarfans.com/1160105102555/chevy-cruze-hatchback-gmc-acadia-rumored-for-naias-debuts) and the GMC Acadia (http://www.worldcarfans.com/1160105102555/chevy-cruze-hatchback-gmc-acadia-rumored-for-naias-debuts) as well.

Cruze Hatchback. Same as the Euro I suppose.

Detroit, I am underwhelmed. Feel like saying, move along there is nothing to see here......

Automotive News is reporting that Nissan will show a new Titan concept--maybe previewing the new 1500-series Titan truck that will sit below the XD.

Smart will have the ForTwo convertible.

VW is going to show an off-road concept version of a production crossover offering, because apparently they've confused NAIAS with SEMA.

Toyota is previewing its new infotainment system. Really.

Right now. I agree....however it's shows like that that really surprise us...I still remember nobody saw the last gen Camaro coming when the showed the concept....same as the original concept Volt....or the Ford GT... There is hopefully a few of those coming!

I would've thought it would be a Frontier concept, if anything. I have a hard time believing a 1500-series of the Titan will look much different from the XD.

On one hand, I'm looking forward to the Buick "surprise" vehicle, but if it's like last year where they do the gorgeous Avenir and then water it down to the dull, dated, and not completely good looking Lacrosse, then it's pointless.

The Camaro ZL1 seems obvious.

The FCA van gives me conflicted emotions. Yes, FCA needs it, but will it be another Giulia disaster that takes forever to get to market? I sincerely hope that the reports of imminent production are true for FCA's sake.

Went to the show Saturday. Was way better than last year's. More cars were open to sit in, and the the layout was just so much better.
