Disappointing profile. Truckish and inelegant.

Truckish and inelegant.

I think that's actually the name of Merc's current design language.

We could see the North American version probably at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2011. And this version will likely be built at Mercedes-Benz's Tuscaloosa, AL assembly line to keep costs reasonable for North American buyers.

I'm beginning to think Bangle secretly works for them.

Yeah, that actually looks really nice. I'm liking those circular air vents Merc's been using lately.

But where's the gearshift? Surely it's not column-mounted...

i dont like interior much - vents are ... then you have navigation that looks like garmin one strapped on the dash.

but i am sure once you sit in it, that it will look quality.

I'm thinking the nav actually slides in and out of the console.

I actually like the profile of this and the interior's nice. Can't wait to see some more.

The interior looks utterly garish to me. The air vents are hilarious and the Garmin stuck to the dashboard is just uber cool...NOT :fear::devil1::vomit:

Interior is perfect for a Merc of this segment. Let's hope the exterior is not as truck-like as the new E-Class

The E-Class' profile looks like it was digitized from the 80s.

Exactly, great description

It looks more rakish and less sit-up-and-beg than the outgoing B-Class. I like it so far.

The interior looks fantastic, simple and elegant.

Cooler than the Volkswagen UP!, not as bland though.

Well, in my eyes this would go straight to the "seriously uncool" area on TG's board. This is totally forgettable. And no MB, sticking the sporty grille to it doesn't mend it...rather, it devaluates the face of the CLS & CLK.

Well, at least the interior looks nice...

You know, the car pictured above is likely a top-spec model, so it stands to reason that it would have some of the larger available wheels on it. And yet it still looks underwheeled, and really top heavy. Just a really ill-proportioned car with an awkward stance.

On the bright side, the A-Class will essentially be this styling on a lower body, so it should look pretty good.

That's a hot mess. Who in their right mind, would buy one over a DS5?

Yes, I have higher hopes for the A-Class.

People who put a badge and wordly things like resale value above looks and soul when acquiring a new vehicle :P

dont mercedes' have crap resale value though?

MtViewGuy188

Given that a concept version of the new B-class was shown at US auto shows in past years, I think it's VERY likely we'll see the new B-class in the USA.

Likely assembled at Mercedes-Benz's Tuscaloosa, AL assembly line, the new US-market B-class will likely use the non-turbocharged version of the 2012 C250's 1.8-liter I-4 engine, probably mated with a six-speed automatic.

No, at least not in Europe, they have the highest resale value. But I think for a DS5 you have to pay that they take it. :D

It does go onto the uncool wall area, but I'm hoping it looks better in person since this looks rather ungainly right now. Perhaps it is the concept like colour, why not use a normal colour like black.

it is an MPV... and they did spoil us with concept photos which looked, better.

But at the end of the day, it is an MPV.

It's an MPV indeed... But so are the DS5, the S-Max or the new Zafira and they don't look like crap.

I find the interior absolutely remarkable! More than enough to forgive the slightly dowdy front end.

I'm split about the air vents; the styling is nifty, but I don't feel like it blends in. But damn, the rest of that interior looks nice.

Something about the nose looks weird to me, too.

I like the exterior's various design details but the clunky proportions let it down. The interior looks really nice though.

The side view continues to prove that Mercedes feels someone should continue Pontiac's surface excitement mentality while adding Mazda's stupid wave look. Hideous and laughable.

Comrade

Nothing interesting on the outside. The only creative thing is those random Mazda wave lines which would be better left off. However, I gotta admit the interior is awesome!

Err why is the E-drive version using the old headlights? Is it to do with aerodynamics? O_o
