It's about time that someone started a thread here about Frankfurt/IAA, a truly amazing event, with the automotive debuts, concept and production (and the ladies), and the list is coming together.

One (or two) things here is another debut that I've heard and read which I was also hoping to see is a concept by Maybach and/or Lagonda, as a result of the beginning of the collaboration between Daimler and Aston-Martin. I'm hoping to see this shown here, as some media and sources have indicated, as well as the announcements of the collaboration between Daimler and Aston-Martin, and Maybach and Lagonda rebirths.

Nothing from Bugatti? I was hoping for a pre-production Galibier.

Nothing from Bugatti? I was hoping for a pre-production Galibier.

Galibier is on hold, pursuant to a mandate from upper management that it be even more extreme.

Nothing from Bugatti? I was hoping for a pre-production Galibier.

According to latest reports surfacing, the Bugatti (and Bentley) CEO, Wolfgang Durheimer, states that the 16C Galibier uber-sedan is "not outrageous enough", and is set to be tweaked and reworked, to become even larger and more powerful, with a requisite 1,000+HP, for a Bugatti. It's also explained that "In his (CEO Wolfgang Durheimer's) opinion, there should not even be a question about the best car in the world when you sit down to discuss it with your billionaire buddies. He doesn't want to build it until it's the car that finishes the argument, not the car that starts it." This should explain why the Bugatti won't show at Frankfurt.

More extreme, eh? I didn't expect that from Bugatti.

From the initial list I don't think we'll see the new 3 Series, A-Class, Maserati 4Porte or the Seat Arosa this time around.
