Villa d'Este.

The exclusive show from Italy is coming up next week and you have to design a concept car to appear there.

Ferrari are showing the Superamerica 45 and Aston Martin their latest collaboration with Zagato so you have some competition to grab the headlines.

Contest will be open until 2nd June 2011 and you could post a photo or theme suggestion as well as your entry.

Nice change of proportions, but not quite "glamorous" enough for a Villa d'Este car if you ask me.

Have not been participating for some time. I hoped my entry would be "glamorous" enough. :)

Bentley Flying Spur Royal Mulliner Concept

If you were a royal belonging to an established imperial family attending a gala event or a customary ceremony, you would expect to ride in a luxurious vehicle that possessed status and power. If Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar are not your cup of tea, and you found Rolls-Royce too extravagant for your tastes, then there is Bentley to suit your requirements.

This is the Bentley Flying Spur Royal Mulliner Concept. A limousine designed to cater the most exquisite of automotive tastes.

Inspired by the ancient horse-drawn carriages, I have detached the driverís roof to instill a refined and prestigious feel to the car. Should weather and security conditions arises, an electronic-regulated roof would prop into place to protect the driver and occupant. The car is design to withstand bombs and projectiles.

Would you want to have a ride?

How, exactly, does it withstand bombs, if there isn't a roof?

How, exactly, does it withstand bombs, if there isn't a roof?

Please rest assured. Did you read the statement "Should weather and security conditions arises, an electronic-regulated roof would prop into place to protect the driver and occupant?"

During the design phase I have thought of the weather and security (even road safety) issues pertaining to the limo. However, due to my busy work schedule and urge to release a concept contest entry after a brief hiatus, I did not have the time to design a foldable-roof to complete the car.

So not to worry, there are security mechanisms in place for the Bentley. Thanks for your feedback! :)

TheophilusChin - 4: beautifully executed, prehaps not as elegant as could have been
canarycny - 2: I like the basic idea, but somehow it just doesn't add up
DdW - 2: well executed, but a but too dull
Porsche-Power - 3: great idea but I feel it needs a bit more modifications
Culong81 - 4: basically the same positives and negatives as Theophilus, just a bit more "Mad Max-ish"
blackstripe - 1: I love the idea of a Honda supercar, but this feels neither Honda nor elegant nor coherent in its design

Well it looks like my Bentley needs lots of improvement. No worries, will try better next time!

Here are my votes:

TheophilusChin: 4 - I assume it to be the ATS. Fit and finish is your strength.

canarycny: 1 - Nice idea but...

Porsche-Power: 3 - Nice idea, but there is room for more solutions.

Culong81: 5 - One word. WoW (not World of Warcraft, lol). The guys at Honda would be so proud of you should they see your concept.

blackstripe: 4 - It seems that the NSXs are winning!

TheophilusChin - 4 - fit and finish is good but very unoriginal.
canarycny - 4 - a little bloated but good creatively
DdW - 4 - the descriptions is excellent but could use more works.
Porsche-Power - 3 - little more changes would be nice
blackstripe - 2 - sorry dude, it doesn't look finish toward the end.
