Design the next car for Jaguar or Land Rover

To kick off the 2011 chop contests we've got a special assignment for you - design the next car for either Jaguar or Land Rover.

You can use any image of your choice to create a new model for either of the companies. You can choose to make a twenty first century Jaguar E-Type, remake the classic Land Rover Defender or make your own new model - perhaps a Jaguar SUV or Range Rover sedan? You decide…

Entries for this contest should be submitted by 7th January 2011.

If you are new to CarSpyShots please take a moment to read our contest rules here (http://www.carspyshots.net/showthread.php?t=18277).

One of your best ever, Bryan! Keep it up! It's based on the Kia Soul?

I'm working on an entry but not taking it too seriously. Its more a bit of fun rather than the next LR.

i am working on a LR right now but pondering a Jag as well :)

I'm working on one too, but im not sure when i'll get it finished..

Im kind of taking a slightly different approach to a new LR. Moving more away from ruggedness and offroad-ability and shifting towards a softer more city centric, long range cruiser. So i guess my concept wont be as sharp eged in design as current LR's but instead will have softer edges and an emphasis on flow. I hope the contest is open long enough for me to finish.

I hope you like this my work.
Story: The Jaguar bought from Aston Martin's Lagonda Concept production license. All changes drew, exept some pieces. :)

Looks very nice, altrough i don't see Jaguar building this one.

Forget what Land Rover has always been about – this is a shift from being tough, rugged and terrain conquering to soft, relaxed, and luxurious crusing. This Ranger Rover GT has no offroading pretense – it is purely a long range cruiser, adept at eating up miles of bitumen. With selectable suspension settings, it can turn itself from relaxed cruiser to all out sports wagon, going up against competitors such as the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne. The softer lines, the subtle bonnet bulge and sleek shape of of the Ranger Rover GT emphasises the move away from the great outdoors to urban civilisation.

Here's my entry - a LR/Bowler cooperation concept for a more offroad orientated Evoque:

Cannot believe a lot of the 2010 entrants haven't done anything (yet) and its a shame none of our new entrants have either. I find it surprising nobody has done a Jaguar...

Those wheels look great on the Evoque.

I have almost finished my Jag btw ;)

I done this as quick as I gone. I was gonna finished tomorrow night but since your closing it soon, I better put my entry in. The only Jag I see so far

Here's my entry. It's a Jaguar E-Type with the weird side-hinged Lift-gate. I think you can see what the base car was. Hope you like it!

PorschePower - I really wanted someone to make an E-Type from the SLS. You read my mind! :)

Overall some great entries and a good start to 2011.

Very interesting contest; I must say it's refreshing looking at such wildly different vehicles, instead of often subtle variations of the same photo. Hopefully this becomes a regular thing.

BryanRW - 4 - There's just something so twisted but so right about this.
csana - 3 - It's still a dog of a design, but works MUCH better as a Jag!
Baji192 - 3 - Wonderful chop in its own right, but less inspired than some of the others.
bm88 - 3 - As with Baji's, technically well-done but conceptually not groundbreaking.
Culong81 - 4 - I don't find it particularly "attractive"--maybe if the grille were 50% smaller--but I LOVE the concept and would really like to see this built in some form or another.
jappelflapje - 2 - Nice idea but it just looks kind of generic now.
Porsche-Power - 3 - Another conceptually strong chop, and I especially love that you integrated the side-hinged hatch, but to me the donor car is so obvious I can't quite see past it.

DoMiNo is all about tough love so I'll take my 3 points and run away before he changes his mind... :P

4 - BryanRW - Following the Evoque its a really interesting concept and you've done a good job with it!
3 - csana - An interesting idea but I just can't imagine this with the rest of the Jaguar model range.
4 - Baji192 - Very 'modern' take on Land Rover and very well executed with some interesting details.
4- Culong81 - Technically not the best chop but the car looks great imho - black windscreen would improve it further.
3 - jappelflapje - While it looks great I can't help but think it is still more a concept than a real life supercar.
5 - Porsche-Power - Great theme of the E Type, very attractive base car that you've made work well as a Jaguar.

BryanRW - 3 - Nice chop, one of your best.
csana - 2 - Not the best here, but good improvement overall. You should have changed the colour i think.
Baji192 - 4 - Just a great chop!
bm88 - 4 - If Bowler should build this, i'll buy it.
Culong81 - 4 - WHAT a great car. with almost nothing changed, you can make a great improvement.
jappelflapje - 3 - Good car, but no major improvements.
Porsche-Power - 5 - Just a great chop!

Where's Theo?

BryanRW - 4 - Very well done. Like domino said, it just looks so right for some reason
csana - 3 - very odd looking, not your fault, but its just weird.
bm88 - 4 - Technically perfect chop, agree with Domino, but this would be so much fun to drive if it were real
Culong81 - 4 - Nice chop!
jappelflapje - 3 - i like your intentions, but it looks kinda generic and for some reason it looks like a big gloop of slime
Porsche-Power - 4 - good work on the chop.
