I'm guessing this could a sneak peek of the new 575M replacement, the 600 Imola.

10-18-2005, 03:18 AM
I can't say it looks great!
Reminds me of Alfa.....

... gah... lets hope it's a one off. I hate to say but it looks cheap, contorted and corvette-ish. I've have a Scagletti anyday, thanks.

Don't care for the modifications to the rear of the car and the wheels are way to heavy and clunky.
The interior and the front are very good looking, as is the side profile.
An interesting design exercise...

10-18-2005, 06:36 AM
perhaps, but it does however hide much of the awkward 612 scaglietti's considerable bulk.the 550 maranello was no masterpiece either, yet somehow
this giugaro design incorperates the rossa concept very well.the rear,however;
is quite horrendous.corvette u say?no way!the c6 is more resolved and less contrieved looking than this fiat coupe wannabe!
all in all, looks ok when sat next to the new xk8!

10-18-2005, 06:36 AM
Not a fans... the rear light reminds me too much of some recent Chevrolet designs (impala, cobalt...)

10-18-2005, 07:47 AM
Why does this scream Alfa 8C Competizione to me guys? I know its Giugaro design and based on Scangletti but still...very 8C and i personally preffer the Alfa

The pics seem to have been taken in the same place as whell, which adds to the similarity.

why is the name
Giorgetto
Giugiaro
5
0
not a word?

10-18-2005, 08:01 PM
It's 50 years of Italidesign/Giugiaro
Giorgetto Giugiaro is the designer and founder of Italidesign.

10-19-2005, 01:20 PM
Very uninspired. The Scaglietti isn't that good looking imo, and this just looks...i don't know... huskier? Flabbier?
I read Giugiaro is the most prolific car designer. Well, i guess this comes to prove quantity and quality are two very different things.

10-19-2005, 07:14 PM
actually, deaddave, the rear is quite inspired. inspired by the chevy cobalt.
Does a good job of hiding the size of the Scallieghti(although it is 3 inches shorter) but nothing more. thank god italdesign doesnt do Ferraris.

10-20-2005, 05:35 AM
This is graceful and taught where the Scaglietti looks elongated and bloated. The nose is a vast improvement. Too bad something this beautiful is a one off. The latest Ferraris have "challenging" styling.

10-23-2005, 01:10 AM
Yeah, a lot of Alfa in side and rear views. Not up to Giugiaro's fame.
