10 bucks says the grill and headlights of this are a preview for the next C-class

10-05-2005, 02:10 PM
what's this, spy photos of a concept car?

10-05-2005, 02:18 PM
unfortunetly it might be the concept car...

10-05-2005, 02:34 PM
god, what a mess.
Reminds me so much of smart, and i really dont think mercs should have poportions like this. A Merc should be elegant and understated, ehich is one of the reasons i dont like the new S-Class...
C'mon MB, let's get back to elegant design.

This came out of the blue, I must say. I didn't read the whole article. I sort of lost interest when it said that this concept previews technology that will be implemented in 2012! That would be....(counting)....seven years from now. I believe D-C will have to work faster than that if they are gonna beat GM and Toyota for first, or among the first, fuel cell/hydrogen production car. Judging from Toyota's sucess with regards to sales and PR with the, environmentally dubious, Prius.

geez the proportions on this car makes it look like a kindergartener drew it. what kind of paint scheme is that? 6 tone?

10-05-2005, 04:17 PM
maybe this is an old pic of what should of been a concept for the current (new) A-class. it does share quite alot with the current A. also i dont think these will be the lights of the C-class, you can make the lights out on the C in a spy photo where it has its bonnet lifted, but maybe it will share the grill seems 2 be going that way.

its one of the f concepts, all they do is show future technologies not really style. the f600 had tech thats not even close to being out yet

Looks like Benz went back about 10 years with the design. Especially on the wheels. Ugly little thing too.

It screams papamobile to me.
but than again, the glass-roof is in the wrong place, maybe the new pope prefers to ride in the front seat?

Awful. So according to MB, in 2012 we will be into bad mid 80's styling... this better be technologically advanced...
And i agree with the C-klass front theory. Back in 96, the F200 Imagination previewed the S-klass front and the CL's overall look, and later Fs, like the F400 Carving, showed MBs new design approach.
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com...=1105
http://www.cardesignnews.com/a...f400/

That boot is brill idea,
My friend is disabled and used to park his Renault Clio in his garage, only problem is every time he went to get out his wheel chair from the boot his boot lid would hit the roof of the garage and damage the paint work.
Also it was difficult for him to open the boot near other parked cars and stuff when he was behind the car cause the boot lid just hit him, so with that folding boot lid imagine how much easier that would be, Mercedes should really think about fitting this to their current A-class as that (from what i am aware) is the only car available on motability here in the UK and this could really boost their sales. At the end of the day ppl with needs will look for an easier way of life.

True, the hatch is a pretty good idea, and the interior is nice as well, but its still hard for me to get past the exterior.
