Aw crap, you beat me to it ACcartoons!

I was going to make a nice pickup truck! I'll have to think of another idea now if I'm going to take part.

06-16-2009, 05:15 AM
Snap I was going to chop another ute, too. Back to the drawing board!

New Alfa Romeo GTV?

Very good blackstripe. Interesting that you made it a hatch rather than a saloon.

06-16-2009, 08:47 PM
Gah - this car is so hideous it's hard to do anything with. I've had two false starts so far. It seems like the only thing you can do with it is make a truck.

*EDIT* - sorry AC, I'm making a truck too. After a false start making an Alfa and a Valiant, I'm giving up.

06-16-2009, 09:59 PM
Changes are:
Rear windows & door removed, raised ride hight, changed head & taillights, edited front bumper.

Yep, because the GTV is a hatch haha. There was the Alfetta which was sedan but I took my inspiration mainly from the GTV that was based off of it.

And wow lots of trucks this might get interesting.

Chrysler 300X
Rival to the Cadillac Escalade.

Is that even the same car speedfreak?

06-17-2009, 07:08 PM
Here's mind. Mind the big size until I go back and find how to resize... I really should learn that...

<a href="http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3528/chrysler300c6sm.jpg"<img src="http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3528/chrysler300c6sm.jpg" width="300"/></a>

PS: my code doesn't seem to work. I've typed it exactly how I thought it was supposed to be typed...

Quite a lot of morphing... It all started when I put a forward leaning slant on the front end - reminded me of a truck. Specificially of the Power Wagon concept from a few years ago. So I went with it. So I put that lean on the front end, moved the turn signals/DRLs in the empty spots where the fogs would reside and put in some Charger headlamp units. Coloured the grille black so it's a bit meaner. Greenhouse made taller, and I chopped up the doors and bump strip to make those swing-out half-doors. Made a bed by extending the wheelbase and adding the bed/cab seperation, and warped the taillights so they're more vertical. Removed the bumper and added a Ram bumper in the rear. I also put a cutline in the doors from the SRT Ram, just to make it a bit different. After that I still found it too car-ish so I added a bit of height above the wheel wells. Still looks a bit too car-ish so I stuck in some (way to big) tires from a Jeep Wrangler, as well as a step. I wanted to add a light bar or something, but couldn't find one at the right angle.

EDIT: Sorted your link out. Nice chop btw...

PS: I love making Chrysler products because you don't have to worry about awkwardly fitting body panels. hehe

Is it ok to post this? It's a gif from before to after...

Is that even the same car speedfreak?

he has used this Abarth500 image and put parts from the 300c on it. So he hasnt used the original 300c image.

<a href="http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll231/brera16/Fiat-500_Abarth_2009_1600x1200_wall.jpg"<img src="http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll231/brera16/Fiat-500_Abarth_2009_1600x1200_wall.jpg" width="600"/></a>

Moorhouse, explane the rules please.

06-17-2009, 08:24 PM
speedfreak_77: I know there are a lot of parts from the 300C image but its quite obvious that it is just the Abarth 500 pic that BryanRC has posted with the 300C parts posted on. While the rules don't disallow this it does go against the spirit of the Ps Contests so I aren't going to allow it I'm afraid.

This being said, due to the ambiguity I will let you do another chop that will be allowed in voting if you wish.

06-17-2009, 08:25 PM
I'm beginning to wish I hadn't done the truck. Everyone else's are so much better than mine. :(

Your truck has been the best chop from you so far, and your truck looks good.

Dear ACcartoons, BryanRC and Moorhouse,

Yes Bryan, I did chop based on 500 with 300C surfaces, I was trying to make Chrysler brand based on Fiat 500.
I'm really sorry to you guys, coz I didn't know that rule. I just deleted it.
Thank you for the comments.

Here's mine,

I like the chrysler 300c but it's with the facelift a little boring, here in Europe we have the old front. I like the more athletic version the Dodge Charger. So I mixed the two cars. And I made a sportive Shouting Brake. And here it is...

06-18-2009, 05:33 PM
Okay here's mine, a quick one

BTW - I think the 300C is the only model available in Europe. This one is the base 300 model - and yes, it's much uglier/boring. Not sure why they decided to go through the extra expense to give it a different front fascia. I guess so the 300C customers could get a bit more exclusivity.

As much as Speedfreaks Chrysler Cinquencento is a bit unfair for this, I loved the looks. Cute teddy bear turned gangsters hungry-looking city runabout. Also like the orange droptop Alfa that looks like it would fit right into California. And Theophilus' gangster sedan turned friendly neighborhood town car. Surprising how such minor and subtle changes can completely change the look of a car.

I was worried no one notice what I've changed.

I'm going to leave this open another 12 hours because I need to talk to Ascariss about which type of voting we'll use.

The thread is still open in the Ps Contest area (click my sig) if you want to add your views.

As I've not had a chance to speak to Ascariss yet, the votes for Contest 16 will be the same as before and will be added onto the current total.

4 : TheophilusChin As usual the chop is very subtle but it totally refreshes the design. It looks fantastic.
4 : Speedstick My favourite of the pickup trucks. Main cab is nicely designed and the front end good too.
1 : S2 I like this semi SUV entry! Again, some subtle and some obvious changes but I like the end result a lot.
1 : Porsche-PowerI like the idea of the shooting brake but aren't sure it should still be a Chrysler.

I'm so surprised nobody tried to make the new Arnage from it...

3: S2 - I don't know what it is about it, but I really like the look of this.
3: TheophilusChin - The changes certainly give it a more athletic look. This is how the 300 should have looked to start with.
2: Blackstripe - Excellent, but a few details around the rear window let it down.
2: PorschePower - Very good. The Charger headlights really suit it.

4 points - Blackstripe (Very cool idea, and very well done)
3 points - PorschePower (another cool idea and it looks pretty good, but I find the headlights are a little of as is part of the roofline)
2 points - theophiluschin (very clean and well done - what the car should have looked like originally, but it gets 3rd place as it isn't as extreme as some of the others)
1 point - Phantomex (I like the idea and the majority of the work, but I find it's stance awkward, and it's wheel wells too large)
