If this is for Frankfurt for September 2009, I see an impressive list so far. I don't know if I'm correct on this, but I understand that a couple, of at least one of these uber-sedans may also appear at this expo: the next-generation Bentley Arnarge and/or the Bugatti Royale sedan

Bugatti may hold a debut at a Concour d'Elegance event over the summer, I believe, and it could premiere either the Veyron successor (Aerolithe - working title) or the Royale sedan, which itself if based upon the next-generation Bentley Arnarge.

The Jaguar XJ was mentioned, but I understand that official photos are to debut in July, and perhaps the XJ's public debut will be in Frankfurt.

Anyone know if MG will make an appearance with the MG6? Though i've heard the European version will have slightly different styling, Frankfurt would be a good place to launch it in Europe. It's a 2010 release so i'm hoping it will be there!

You are 100% sure about the Ford? Cause even though i considered it to be a dead-cert there is no mention of any Ford debut in the German press which is both puzzling and disappointing. Also i did not know the C30 was getting a facelift, it will probably be the same subtle changes the S40 received which made it even sleeker/nicer looking

Excellent list, Forked69, but, one thing: the Bugatti Bordeaux (production-close) concept, this is to be shown at the Bugatti Centenaire Celebration in France, not at Frankfurt, and to be shown perhaps around the time in September, and just before the Frankfurt event.

Ascariss

perhaps the focus will have a concept at geneva in 2010 and production version at paris 2010? according to wiki the C-max is to launch with the new mark 3 focus.

the mark 2 focus was launched at paris in 2004 not sure where the mark 1 was launched.

CosworthKid

I'm thinking there might be a Focus concept in an up-coming NA show since Ford will want to make a big deal out of launching the car there. But seriously, i can't think of 1 reason why Ford would not use the Frankfurt show for launching the C-Max and, perhaps, giving us a concept tease of the B-Max - both models should come out prior to the MK3 Focus

Ascariss

well again if nothing debuts from ford at geneva then either detroit or geneva.

Just being pedantic now but I'm not sure they'd call it the E1, that'd get confusing...

Another debut to add, according to some recent reports, is the production version of the Spyker D8 SSUV (nee Peking-to-Paris). The production Spyker is said to benefit from some of the design features of the C8 Aileron coupe and convertible, which both premiered this year.

I've posted this on another thread and forum within this site, the 20?? Supercars in the news & rumors section, and I feel this fitting to repost here, being the day that it today (9/11/09) and to me it does tie into a past Frankfurt show, and here it is below:

One thing I do have to say, today, it's September 11th, and the 8th anniversary of the horrific attacks on New York City, USA and the Pentagon in the Washington, D.C., USA area - we must take time remember those who were tragically lost in these senseless attacks.

I remember that it was a beautiful day weather-wise in the New York City, USA, metro area, and I was eager with anticipation at that time for the first press-day of the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show debuts was scheduled for that day. I had planned to check out the auto news and enthusiast-related websites, while at the office, to see the official reveals, official shots and live pics of the Frankfurt automotive debuts. I'm driving in, and I hear a vague report, on a news-radio station that I was listening to, that an airplane had crashed onto one of the Word Trade Center twin towers. The reports became clearer and more intense as the second hit happened.

While en-route to work, reaching the exit #163 from the Garden State Parkway, NJ-USA, to Rt. 17 southbound in Paramus, NJ, while facing south I saw the smoke billowing from the struck World Trade Center from there, while heading down Rt. 17 to Hasbrouck Heights, NJ to where my office was located at the time. While at the office, on the top-4th floor, facing south, I could see the NYC skyline with the two smoldering towers, and before they collapsed, while I was at the office. No one could work, we watched the towers, tried to get on-line (you didn't have much, if any on-line video and streaming at that time), listened to radios, and watched coverage on a small, old B&W 13" TV that someone had there.

Of course, as a result of the attacks, the staff was dismissed for the day, as were many other workplaces. The traffic on the roads acted differently; there was absolutely NO tailgating and road-rage, nothing of an aggressive nature. It was a clear, sunny, day, but my brain was in a fog all day. There were no programs, talk-shows, sit-coms, or music on TV and radio all day, just 9/11 attack coverage. Phone calls were made frequently notifying of the terrorist attack and seeing if loved ones were alright.

Later that evening, those involved did meet at a local car-cruise night (yes, I had my vintage 1963 Pontiac Bonneville convertible then, too), to still get out and meet for the weekly. Tuesday night cruise in Old Tappan, NJ, USA, but, it was mellow and somber, and to talk and try to clear our heads. There were also worries and the uncertainties on how all our futures, here and abroad, would be effected.

The day of the first press-day event of the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany was dampened and somber as a result of the attacks, as well as my personal focus and enthusiasm of this event which I was anticipating. Now, the 2009 Frankfurt show press events are upon us, as I post this, for the next week, and yes, I'm excited over the grand automotive debuts scheduled, as well as a coinciding Bugatti Centennial event over in France, but, still, to this day, with every following Frankfurt event, I still can't help but to cringe, thinking back to 9/11/01.

This is my personal view and experience of the tragic event of September 11, 2001.
