I'm in. This should be a good one.

I have no time really to do this one unfortunately. I'm off Thursday on vacation. Here's what I threw together anyway.

It may not look like much, but it's a complete re-hash of the car's proportions, staying truer to the original Challenger. Most every area is changed except for the basic roof height, which is what I used to base the rest of the proportions from. The overall car would probably be about a foot shorter and a like 10 inches less tall.

- The quarter window made smaller with a sharper rake, door window and cutline pushed back.
- Overall body height was reduced (you can see this up front big time). Not as noticable from the side as the basic painted metal area has stayed the same, except it's been pushed down and there's no black plastic rocker panel anymore. Wheel wells were shrunk by 90% to reduce their height (so the front well could stay under the lowered shoulderline and so they fit the wheels snugger).
- Grille narrowed and set back like the 1970 model.
- Front end lengthened by added more room between the front wheel wells and the front door.
- Rear wheels brought forward (and therefore the whole rear end).
- Training edges of the front bumper dip towards the wheel well to meet the new lower body (and to look moreso like the older models).
- Bottom of the rear bumper raised and dip towards the wheel wells.
- Repositioned the side blinkers to where they used to be.
- Remade door handles similar to the original.
- Painted it green.
- Made gun metal rims.
- Made the rear spoiler black.

Looks pretty hot to me!

And no, no...I will definitely not be chopping (or crudely attempting to) any time soon...

Speedstick - Looks excellent. The changes make a big difference, and it really echoes the original.

Personally I think the Challenger would work better as a FIAT :naughty:

Here's mine, the Chrysler Barracuda.

Obviously, it shares a lot with the Challenger since the original Barracuda was just a facelifted Charger. I adjusted the front bumper (not as steep angle), the rear overhang, the front overhang, as well as some obvious stuff like the wheels, front end, and the creases over the wheels.

Interesting tidbit: the headlamps are not headlamps at all. The donor parts are the in-grille foglamps from a 2010 Ford Mustang.

When is this contest closed?

I cannot remember when I said. The problem with the deadline banner not showing is a weird one that I've seen the last two contests so from now on I may just write it like this is.

As most people seem to have entered already I will say the deadline is Saturday evening, so about 36 hours from now.

Here's mine chop

Its a Dodge Challenger Fastback

Obviously, it shares a lot with the Challenger since the original Barracuda was just a facelifted Charger.

Quick FYI: The original Barracuda was a Plymouth Valiant coupe that soldiered on as Chrysler's pony car until the second generation Dodge Charger came along. When the subsequent Challenger showed up, the Barracuda migrated from the Valiant/Dart platform to the newer and better one of the Challenger. The vacated spot of a Valiant/Dart coupe was then filled by the Duster/Demon duo.
