I can see the headlines now: "Chris Bangle Caught Moonlighting as headlamp designer at Chinese firm. BMW design chief also suspected of pirating the corporate logo."

Looks like this company is in cahoots with Toyota. Or they did a really, REALLY good job at copying the corolla.

Byd F6 (that BMW 7 copy) is actually on sale since December, 2004
Byd F3 (that Toyota Corolla copy) will go on sale during the next couple of months
The ET, which looks similar to the GM Hywire was originally unveiled last Summer at the Beijing Show, and it was facelifted for Shanghai.
Regards,
Pal

The F6 is bloody awful, the F3 is so close to the Corolla that you can't be even remotely offended by the styling, and the ET is actually mildly funky. If I were a young Chinese person who wanted lots of space and reasonable looks, I'd probably buy one.

it nearly killed me when I saw pics on auto.tom.com, but then I remebered what autoindx said about Bejing auto show, went searching and on motori.tiscali.it found these one....

source motori.tiscali.it
definitely developed out of MB A-Class. I guess that they are doing it in some kind of steps or segments.... they'll probably lose A-Class rear doors on it's third version next year

I did not see the blue photo but yeah, I get what you are saying. This company in reality does not have any ties with MB do they? How can they get away with this? This certainly does not showcase the chinese auto industry in a good way. With more publicity than ever before focusing on the chinese auto industry MB will most definetly notice this one, but seeing how they will react is another thing.

wow! an old merc a-class rear and what i believe are previous generation chevy malibu/impala/corvette (in other words GM corporate) doorhandles! so cutting edge! in all fairness though, they're getting there...although i do wonder from looking at the F3 how they copied the corolla so well, it's a really good replica, even the interior fit/finish and panel gap tolerance seem accurate judging from those photos...

Are the models here that look production ready actually in production? with that badge? ..cuz that would be pathetic. They copy everything from badge to exterior to interior. Aren't there international laws prohibiting this type fraud?

The corolla clone looks goood from behind. Can we all chip in and send one to VW so they can restyle the tail of the Jetta?
