Wonder if its Enzo based like the MC12?

02-12-2005, 03:42 PM
Looks more like an Audi than a Maserati. But looking at it in that way its not bad.

Is this for Geneva or....
Looks very good, and almost like a next gen. MC12.

Info for maserati's concept car from autoscoops:
A tribute to the Maserati of the future. With this new creation, based on the Maserati heritage and on its most advanced mechanicals and realized in collaboration with Motorola, Pininfarina revives the storied theme of the true dream car proposed in a synthesis of the vision of the three companies: exclusive design, sports DNA, technological innovation. Pininfarina's prosperous collaboration with Maserati, marked by the great international success of the Quattroporte, is celebrated with this rolling hi-tech sculpture that evokes a new future context, imaginary but possible, while simultaneously paying homage to the strong and distinctive brand characteristics of the Tridente. The integration of Motorola's technology in the car realizes the seamless mobility concept: the car itself becomes an intelligent moving network, able to interact with its passengers and keep them constantly and seamlessly connected to all the aspects of their lives.
I hope it will be good concept vehicle from Maserati and Pininfarina.

Very Audi-ish. Hopefully it's a pointer for the next-gen Coupe and Spyder!

Looks pretty sleek but I'd like to see it with the clamshell down.

What an ugly looking thing. Doesn't even look like a Maserati and it looks so bulbous...me no likey.

03-02-2005, 12:48 AM
GM 50's Motorama anyone? This could well be Firebird V, 40 years later.

03-02-2005, 12:50 AM
Not sure why, but it reminds me of the Koenigsegg.

03-02-2005, 02:35 AM
The low-slung curvaceousness of the car is meant to echo the Type 60 & 61 Birdcage Maseratis:

Wow.. Easily the best design at Geneva this year... It's fantastic...

03-04-2005, 04:12 PM
If this is supposed to be the Tipo 60/61 then its a mockery of one of the most beautiful Maseratis of all time. It's not too bad, but its too weird and doesn't fit Maserati's smooth style, it looks more like something Audi would have done. But the attention to detail has to be great when a concept car has its own phone. (I'd really hate to use that phone though, and I thought the buttons on mine were too small.)

03-04-2005, 04:28 PM
It may not fit in with Maserati's current design language real well, but IMO it captures the essence of the old Birdcage nicely. Plus it's much, much cleaner than the MC12. I'd love to see this thing in real life.
