A lot of the design from this car went into the Vel Satis:

I agree, I once had a nightmare with an Aston Martin 20/20 in it though so who knows?

I actually really liked the Initiale!
Just that the roof is way too tall, spoils it all.

I saw Initiale on a car show, it looked fantastic. and in real lif it didn't apere so squashed as on these pictures. and it was not just a concept. it worked, they drove it to exibit like a normal car.

One good thing about Renault's concepts is that sooner or later they always move the concept design clues to their production cars. That rear lights, for example, remind me a lot to the current Laguna. And i love their names as well.

Yes, their names sound fantastic. much better to give cars normal names than confusing alfanumeric names, IMO the former is remembered better as time goes on.
The Initiale was a concept I drooled over. the car looks sooo elegant, its definition of luxury is more like french furniture than german techno. But i admit the vel satis concept was a prettier car. The production velsatis is jus awwfully ugly.
