Motortrend had this on their list for NAIAS. Does anyone know what this could be? GMC's Equinox?

It might be a concept version of the Lamda platform( Subie B9x, saab 9-6, Buick Rendevous replacement). According to Motor Trend GMC is getting a version of the new crossover platfrom.

Looks like GM designers have ran out of ideas, This thing looks like the VW Magelan.

I think it looks like Axiom, at least the window layout.

It looks ugly, but the technology underneath could be a big thing for GM in the near future. Hybrid technology could prove very big in the SUV market, especially since such heay cars have ridiculous fuel economy.

I love it!
Hopefully Bob Lutz has approved the front end and fender themes for the next generation full size pickups and suvs. And the interior is by the far the best i've seen from the general ever--surely a sign of good things to come....

I do like it.. but it's only a concept.. watch the real thing look nothing like that:(

exterior im not too keen on. inside looks really good up front... hopefully some elements will end up in future production gmcs. also like the dropping tail.

B-O-R-I-N-G
... and the inner part of that grille is hideous!

with that awful thing in your avatar, you really shouldnt say that

Yup.. inner grille is not so great. The rest of the Graphyte is really nice. I hope GM makes this thing. It'll help them get some market share back.
And while I think one of GMs greatest contributions was not even a car (OnStar), I really like how innovative they have become. The way the rear glass is hinged about a foot earlier than typical tailgates would be very handy for odd shapes in the trunk. Only downside would be if you had a roof rack. You'd just have to make sure there's clearance between the tailgate and anything you have mounted on the roof.
Other than that, good job GM!! Good job on the GM Sequel too.

i highlt doubt this will ever come out, its a new car built around the hydrogen skateboard. Maybe some design elements may come but vehicles like this wont be out for 10-20 years

01-16-2005, 10:41 PM
I don't like this one bit. I hate pointless concept and I think this fits that description. I don't see anything like this in GMC's future.

01-17-2005, 07:27 AM
very smooth concept there , the back remids me of the hummer a little bit

01-26-2005, 06:26 PM
I like this, the front makes me think of the facelift the GMC S-15 recieved when it became the Sonoma. I think it's okay. And, BTW, I hope these themes are applied to GMC only! Chevy needs to part ways.

01-27-2005, 06:22 PM
Looks ok
I bet GM is going to change the grill making it a Saturn, Chevy, Buick, Pontiac, Like they always do
