Pic of exterior. I like all new infinitis, but not this one. :P

from http://www.autotelegraaf.nl

Detroit's auto show will also witness the debuts of an Infiniti concept vehicle and the production version of the M sport sedan. The Kuraza concept, Nissan says, "takes an exploratory look at future SUV interior design, starting with equal comfort, amenities and roominess provided for all passengers." It's set for a Jan. 10 unveiling in Detroit. The Nissan upscale brand will also show off the new M sedan, which goes on sale in the early spring of 2005. It will come with either a 3.5-liter V-6 or a 4.5-liter V-8. tCc

i still have faith in this concept. i think it's got some really good ideas, and from what i see it'll look very mean and imposing, especially with that greenhouse.

The interior is beautiful, but the exterior is strange, as it doesnt look like it fits in with the rest of the Infiniti range IMO.

ANy idea how the six doors work, I'd guess at the fronts opening normally and then the ones behind opening like a Mazda RX-8, because the very back ones don't have doorhandles.

the silverado had them like that ( 4 doors ) the rear handles are tucked inside

Wow I didnt really expect it to look like that. I wonder if it would have looked better if they tinted the windows on it. And whats up with the half wood - half leather dashboard?

For some odd reason, I like it, I think it looks quirky and cool. Maybe it's my Nissan fanboy speaking, but it looks oddly appealing.

Same thing for me, it looks kind of stately in that side view shot. For once a car looks better than the sktches as those sketches don't do this car any justice.

The Water Is Poison

I didnt say I didn't like it just that it would look so much better if the roof didn't rise in the middle

something about the renault design language roof just doesnt work with infiniti for me. the large screen on the dash scares me too. a lot.
the pic charger posted is easily the funniest thing i have seen yet in 2005.

it reminds me of a stretched version of the Scion xA....... who would have thought that the wavy part in the sketch would have actualli came out in the concept.

Why does Infiniti need this Maxi-Cooper? Its not like theyre selling any QX56s to warrant another fullsize SUV.

Make the roof line normal, remove 2 doors off the sides and you have got a nice looking Suv. But in its current guise it is hideous.

I don't know why everyone hates this car. I could see this replacing the QX56 and selling very well. The roof is like that so that the passengers in the third row have enough head room. The third set of doors also helps the third row of passengers get into the car. This car is very passenger centric, and IMO I think it has a very nice sporty stance.

i dont like hardly any of it the interior looks like somthing out of the thunderbirds!
and the exterior looks like the desgner was jogged when he did the back because it wobbles at the back, and he thought oh well that will do publish it

I think it is more of a crossover than an SUV.. with real SUVs you won't get as much room inside due to the suspension.

Quote, originally posted by AXLE »

If you need a car that has enough room for more than 6 people then get a minivan or a crossover type vehicle, not a SUV.
The "wiggle" in the roof is to break up the length of the thing. In person, it is massive. In the past few years, Infiniti has toyed around with a number of showcars that are varying interpretations of the SUV -- this one pushes the boundaries of passenger capacity in a luxury format. It looks like it packages better than the Excursion did. Personally, I doubt this is intended for production at all. It strikes me as pure concept to explore a three row seating package.
Reponse at NAIAS to this did seem highly favorable from attendees, however.

Really? That's interesting. The vibe I got from looking at it was "SUV limo", sort of like all of those stretched Navigators you see. I'm just not sure how many people need three row seating, but there must be a market. Rap stars would need them for their "posses", maybe?
Uhm....well, they have the QX56, which is just a stop-gap vehicle to help amortize Nissan's cost of building the new truck plant and the F-Alpha platform itself. This probably previews the replacement for the QX overall, though not necessarily in every detail (obviously).
