I'm surprised that nobody started a Geneva '08 auto show thread, and so close to the event, too, so, I figured that I'll start one.

News on some of the debuts is starting to surface; I'm sure someone here will post a list of concept & production premieres. One thing I found just moments ago from this posting, from www.jalopnik.com is this article concerning the upcoming Porsche Pamamera sedan (link below):

Is the Porsche Pamamera set to debut at Geneva 08? If so, It'll be one of my main highlights!

I don't see the Ford Fiesta/Verve on this list, should I have been expecting it?

P.S. this should be merged with the other Geneva thread.

yup new fiesta is there. fixed list.

Ford Fiesta Thread:

if you make a thread for a new car at geneva please link it back to here. thanks.

Volvo XC 60 Production Version

Volvo extends its XC range at the Geneva Motor Show with the world premiere of the new Volvo XC60. Following the successful debut of the Volvo XC60 Concept in Detroit in January 2007, the long awaited Volvo XC60 production model is unveiled on Tuesday 4 March 2008.

This charismatic crossover vehicle integrates both the unmistakable, muscular XC-versatility and the sporty charisma of a coupe and takes Volvo into a new segment. First pictures of the car will be released on Wednesday 20 February.

The Volvo press conference takes place at 10:00 on Tuesday 4 March on the Volvo stand in Hall 6.

Audi A4 Avant (wagon) is missing as well.

strangely enough, we havent seen anything about the A4 wagon, but only about the S4. anyone else think audi will go debut-happy and introduce the Q5, A4 wagon, S4, and RS6 sedan all at one show?

02-18-2008, 05:15 PM
I am hearing that the first customer deliveries of A4 Avant would happen in May.
Facelifted A6 (also missing from the list) should start deliveries in July.
And first customers are getting their Q5's in October/November.

This is the estimate for my neck of the woods (Finland).

'We are pleased to inform you that from 6-16 March Maserati will appear at the 78th Geneva International Motorshow, the event at which the GranTurismo was launched in an exclusive preview last year.

At the Swiss show, Maserati will present to the press and public its latest creation in a world preview. This high performance sportscar is innovative and created in true Maserati style.'

granturismo convertible?

02-24-2008, 08:51 AM
A Grandturismo convertible would be nice, and I believe there were some mule shots of it, but I don't know if that's the Geneva premiere. I believe it's a concept pointing the way to an upcoming Maserati coupe model, and it's not going to be on the Maserati stand, here's a link to an photo and article pertaining to this (either click or or copy & paste into your browser):

One of the Geneva debut's I'm looking forward to is the next-generation Infiniti FX. Also, the Rolls Royce production Phantom hardtop coupe, which already had some pics posted already. I'm sure we'll be hearing of more in the next week (2/24-3-1), both concept and production/near production, being the week after will have the press days.

ein was für Stück Mist

Too bad the top in that Elise doesn't fully shut to a pressurized, air-tight, oxygen-supplied cabin for diving, maybe a follow-up concept!

Are we expecting an Infiniti FX series, next-generation at Geneva? The time is drawing near and I haven't heard much more.

Love it; also impressed! It has a nice, broad-shouldered stance.
At the same time, it saddens me, for it's not arriving to the USDM :-(
Funny thing, it was earlier said to arrive to the USA, but the powers that be had later pulled back.
