Kudos to AXIS for the win, and for supplying the banner and design brief.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/hellospaceboy/2058.jpg

OBJECTIVE: Designers have been commissioned by a major Hollywood studio to design a vehicle for an upcoming action or sci-fi movie, set in the year 2058. Designers must provide vehicle stats as well as a brief summary of the movie's plot (which can be based on an existing franchise or the designer's own idea) and how the vehicle is integrated into the plot.

This contest is scheduled to close February 19th.

Good luck designers!

My entry will be up later.

Surprised this contest isn't overflowing with entries!

Anyone seen the french 'Taxi' films? Well mine is the Peugeot from 'TAXI 2058'

I'm really pleased with it, and it would have been finished long before now, but i've had a lot of troubles at home.

Taxi 2058 is the 5th instalment of the original 'Taxi' series of films. This time the lead character, Daniel, is enjoying retirement in Marseille. His life gets turned upside down when he gets into a taxi driven by a former workmate. The short taxi ride turns into a nightmare when they become involved in a crash. The accident claims a life of a Mafiosa big wig. Daniel calls on his policeman friend 'Emilien' and comes out of his retirement to use his Peugeot 4088 to help apprehend the Crooks.
We have been thrilled to help with this film. The 4088 propels itself by magnets and has no wheels. The car is lightweight and has 4 electric motors where the wheels would normally be and a biofuel 2.0 up front. The design is (very) loosely based on our next 408. We worked alongside BMW who designed and supplied the 'bad guys' cars, all the other cars in the film are existing Peugeots/Citroens and BMWs modified to look futuristic.http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb251/adythesaxoman/car%20drawings/img051.jpg
Sorry about the lame car spec.. i'm no good with technical stuff. Also, I recommend everyone to watch the actual Taxi, Taxi2, Taxi3 and T4xi films. They are in French but have subtitles.

Nah, don't extend it.. I may have a chance of winning by default lol.

Ok, I think it needs extending really. I'm so surprised that there hasn't been a flood of entries!

This is the Nissan X. The car kicking ass in the new action packed Cold Burn. The main character rolls in his Nissan X which is powered by an oxygen fed motor. It's sublime handling and performance gets our main guy outta danger with modified 350Z's bodykitted out to look futuristic. The Nissan X is seen in many exciting car chases and action packed scenes. OMG, i thought it was a real sequel to the other "Taxi" films and thought i was reading an official Peugeot announcement as i've just click on the banner on one of your post Prodigy ( didnt know it was anctual design contest ).

Well done.
And like Domino said, it does retain the Peugeot DNA.

Maybe you should draw the "Taxi 2010" and "Taxi 2025" and show us the evolution of the car before the 2058 edition.....a bit like the "star wars" movies went backward in the story-telling.

EDIT:

I just noticed the Eiffel Tower in the background.
My, hasnt it lost weight in 2058! It's all skinny-looking like it developped anorexia or smthg, lol.

The name „X-Agon“ is a combination of the traditional Jaguar-related letter "X" and the antique greek word “Agon” which means “sporty competition”. The name itself is an allusion to the throughout honeycomb (hexagonal) structure of the car.

Jaguar X-Agon is powered by four independent electric motors installed directly in the wheels. The axis serves as magnet, and the wheel rim holds the magnet coil. Jaguar X-Agon is steered by the difference of rotation speeds of each wheel. This drivetrain concept allows a fully flexible arrangement of all components, thus allowing an uncompromising aerodynamical design. To reduce drag, Jaguar X-Agon features no rear spoiler, but a downforce generating fan instead. Air pressure under the car is thereby reduced and the body pushed down to the road. This technology was successfully used in Formula One on Brabham BT46B before it was prohibited by the FIA.

Jaguar X-Agon has a supreme safety concept to protect the three occupants – the whole body consists of a carbon fiber / titanium compound arranged in honeycombs. This reduces the car weight at the same time. The hexagon-shaped windscreen elements visualize the honeycomb structure, but for optical reasons only.
The whole engineering layout makes the Jaguar X-Agon the fastest and safest sportscar in the year 2058.

Movie plot of „TPONRH 58.1”:
“Mindstock” is a central database that acts like a brain extension. It allows humans to backup their memory online. Sergej Kalejev (Edward Norton), a hacker of Russian origin, has programmed a trojan to manipulate bank account data, and at the same time, he changes the respective memories of his victims. In order to win Aurora Shelly (Angelina Jolie) over, he attempts to delete the related thoughts in the brain of her and her fiancé Ray Canavera (Orlando Bloom). But their love is stronger and they get to the bottom of the strange occurences they come across in their relationship.

When Ray and Aurora are trying to catch Kalejev, Ray steals a Jaguar X-Agon at a dealership and they chase Kalejev across a Highway. Kalejev has to give up running out of fuel.

007 is Back in ATLANTIS RISING

The Year is 2058. The earth’s population has skyrocketed. Despite the desperate efforts of world governments, a variety of problems—both natural and manmade—plagues mankind. Wealthy Arab real estate developer Hamid Al-Aziz believes he has discovered the solution to Earth’s overcrowding, and constructs a veritable city in the sky to house the world’s most privileged people. Dubbed “Atlantis,” the city literally floats above the earth, buoyed in the sky by massive balloons filled with hydrogen generated by solar power.

MI6—already investigating Al-Aziz for possible financial ties to known terrorist organizations in Morocco, Syria, and newly-independent Chechnya—discovers that the tycoon’s corporation has bankrupt itself building the floating city (where few have dared chosen to reside due to the dangers of the volatile hydrogen gas that keeps it afloat). Yet inexplicably, Al-Aziz has commissioned the construction of half a dozen more “Atlantis” cities around the globe. Agent 007—James Bond—visits Atlantis to probe Al-Aziz’s mysterious corporation and eventually uncovers a massive terrorist plot dubbed “Darwin.” Al-Aziz plans on unleashing a terrifying virus epidemic on Earth, thereby forcing the world’s wealthy to buy into his “floating cities” (at immensely inflated prices) in order to remain safe from infection, as the rest of the world plunges into chaos and war.

As Bond tries to thwart Al-Aziz’s maniacal plan he is confronted with a number of fearsome foes, including Al-Aziz’s sophisticated fleet of attack helicopters and armored flying cars. Luckily, the Q Branch has outfitted Bond with a heavily-modified version of Aston Martin’s latest HPFC (high performance flying car), the Vertica. Motivated by fuel cell-powered dynamic jet thrusters and incredibly maneuverable, 007’s Vertica is more than enough to outgun Al-Aziz’s thugs. Deadly assassins, a mysterious Greek seductress, and thrilling mid-air chases tens of thousands of feet above the surface of the earth mark James Bond’s most dangerous mission yet.

4 = DoMiNoDon't need to say anything here really - excellence as usual. The design is awesome and the Film synopsis is sooo good that I really want the film to be made!
4 = The futureAwesome design, very futuristic, and a good film write up. The stunning Angelina Jolie hasn't influenced you getting points... :D
1 = mrfdesignAce drawing with a brilliant render, very futursitic too. I wouldn't say it's very Nissan like, but i suppose by 2058 Nissan will have a completely different design language.
1 = AXISCool drawing and render as usual with your designs. I don't think that it's too futuristic though - maybe 2018, but not 2058.

Sorry to Vexedandglorious and Mr. Burns...
Vexed = The design is awesome, even your first attempt was great, it's just that i think that these designs would be more suited to 2010. The film write up was awesome though.
Mr. Burns = Awesome design again, wish you could have rendered it. The Truck does look very futuristic in its shape, not so much the details. Where's the synopsis too?

Well done all!

4 - DoMiNo, superb presentation and render. You managed to outclass everyone here by miles. Dude i think you need to leave CSS , you're putting us all to shame Hahaha. Just joking. Great stuff however i dont think flying cars will ever exist. There are things called aeroplanes Haha :)
3 - mr burns, very brave to attempt a truck ! Very futuristic lines. Very cool
2 - prodigy, very good storyline, i like the car very much, its got nice futuristic lights and very peugeot.
1 - the future, i like it. Just looks very much like a le mans car with aircraft wheels but very futuristic
as for the other entries, vexed i think your drawing is great its just not futuristic, it looks too recent like it could be released tomorrow. AXIS, great render dude, i just dont think the car looks too futuristic, and i personally dont like the stance of it, it looks very high and the ground clearance of an SUV. But great try

4 - Mr. Burns - I like the idea of drawing a truck. Like in "Die Hard 4.0", a truck can look and sound so menacing - this is a good idea for Bad Boys! And it looks very futuristic.
3 - PRODIGY - Nice evolution of the Peugeot design. Stylingwise, your car appeals me the most.
2 - AXIS - As a fan of Dodge, I have to like the Venom... :-) It has a nice chunky look, although rather 2028 than 2058. But who knows if there will be another retro wave in 2058?
1 - DoMiNo - Take away the cool elements, and you get an Aston Martin of today. After having watched "Die Another Day", a agreed with a friend that an invisible car was far too unrealistic for James Bond, and that it could only be topped by a flying car... But it's a beautiful rendering!

Great job guys! I don't know how you did it.. all I could think of was some sort of futuristic beer-powered AMC Pacer for Wayne's World 23!

That being said.. the Oscar goes to..

4 - AXIS - sure, many complained that it isn't futuristic enough, but who in 1968 would have guessed that the Mustang of 2008 would look almost identical to their then-current model? Great rendering with nicely evolved Dodge cues, and kudos for the unique film concept!

3 - thefuture - I know I've seen this shape on some sort of Jag racing concept somewhere.. but by 2058 it could be completely viable for public consumption. Love the hex theme too.. not sure how it relates to Jaguar, but you never know what styling direction they will take under Tata's ownership! As far as the film goes, not so sure I want to watch an 80-year-old Orlando Bloom woo an 85-year-old Angelina Jolie! :woops:

2 - DoMiNo - what can I say? The flying aspect is futuristic, the Aston shape is decidedly not. But then again, how much has the shape of Aston really changed in the past 20-25 years? Great rendering and thoughtful use of the 007 franchise got you extra points!

1 - Mr Burns - ballsy idea for the film choice! It doesn't appear to be a complete work (how the hell do you get inside?) but the concept won me over.

Great job one and all!

I thought, the film is set in the year 2058, and not shot in 2058. So, Angelina Jolie would star as gorgeous as she is today.

BTW, has anybody wondered why my film title "TPONRH 58.1" is so complicated and unpronouncable? The idea behind this is a wrong transcription of the word "TROJAN", written with Cyrillic letters: "ТРОЙЯН". The number "58.1" is a hint to the naming of computer software, while "58" refers to the year the film is set in, and ".1" being the first version of the trojan, and at the same time leaving room for a sequel named "TPONRH 58.2".
