soo..is that the M6 bodykit? looks so average, i thought it would look meaner.. just look at the front bumper, so average

The car looks badass. But yes, those bumpers are off a bit. The rear looks like it belongs in the front and vise versa.

I don't get it. Maybe it's because it isn't sold here, but isn't this car sold quite a bit ago? What's new with this one? Excuse my ignorance.

What is the source of this? I'm probably wrong, but this looks like just a customized 645Ci to me that somebody had M6 badges made for. Until I see the engine in car or a press release, I'm not convinced.

Why would you think that?
It has the M6 rims, carbon fibre roof, M6 bumpers and badges.
And FYI, they are out; there's a few people in Europe who have M6's in their garages now.

Yeah, the M6 went on sale here in April if I remember correctly. Saw a bunch of them on a delivery truck not too long ago.

if the car is not on sale in US it doesn't mean that this car is not on sale anywhere else.
The car is alredy on sale in Germany since April.
The price for it is around 115,000 euro - 130,000 euro

It's real.
Why would some one buy this car and make a fake M6? You would need the OEM Rims and tires. OEM tires are Continentals just like the M5 (last I checked). Everything matches to the tooth. This ***** is real.

M6 is a hell of a car, but i hate black cars, you don't see every detail clearly on it and it looks soooo small IMO
that's why i think some of you think it's a fake one
if it was a red or blue one, i suppose you all would say it's a real one
btw, i saw a blue M5, and it's quite impressive , but more impressive is the sound of it

It has every little detail the M6 has. I'm not the only one, this car seems to be selling itself since several people have already seen on in Belgium and Holland.

Why do people question the authenticity of this car? It is on sale, people buy it and it is driving around! And especially since a member of this board has posted these pics and says they are real, we should stop the discussion of it being out or not right now.
I do have to say that I am impressed by this car, too. BMW really hit it big with this one, and as a MB fan I have to say that I dont see a comparable vehicle in their range, maybe the CLS55AMG, but thats so much more conservative than this beast.
Nice pictures Rik by the way!

Why would anyone question about a press release? Most of the major car Magazines have tests of these this month! I don't think they were all fooled and driving fake ones. So just because the car is extremely new that means that all of the people who already have it only have fakes? These are the real deal. Not to mention it doesn't look bad in black where you don't notice the unpainted carbon fibre as much. They really need to offer painting that as an option.

ok i see i was wrong... i just thought it was really odd to start a new thread without official pics is all, and maybe it just seems really underwhelming. also, can't you get that shift with the m logo in non-m cars? i could be wrong, but ive seen 545i's with plenty of m badges all over them inside and out. sorry for the ignorance, i just really don't pay attention to bmw's anymore

I'll disregard that last comment, but generally you can find ///M's on rims, on sport steering wheels, and on shift knobs on non-///M cars anyways...

As much as I dislike BMW's, I will admit that the M6 is a beast of a machine. Its got all the right moves, and the design works even better than before because of the new bodykit and wheels. Now if only it could lose 1200 pounds..............

This car already has a carbon fiber hoof, lighter wells(saving 1.8kg per whell), front bumber 20% lighter, rear bumber 40% lighter, the engine weighs only 240kg, all this combined saves 60kg in the M6. I know this is still a heavy car, but take a look to the CLS55 AMG or the SL55 AMG.... both are heavier. Let's hope the M6 csl comes to life....

It competes with the Porsche 911 which is quite a bit lighter than the M6.

I'm not sure how much of a competitor this is to the 911. The pricing in the US is about $15k-20k apart (rwd "S" Porsche vs. guzzler taxed BMW) I think. 911 is also more of a pure sports car. The M6, while the numbers sure look similar, doesn't have that light "flingability" that defines cars like the 911. I'm sure it'll be cross-shopped but it just seems very different from the M6's brief.

I think a lot of the disagreement on which car is better, 911 or M6, supports that these are not direct competitors in the traditional sense. The M6 is a huge boulevard bruiser/GT that decimates the straights with hp. The 911 is a small, light, fast racer for launching through corners with torqueiness. One is defined by its technology (some would say burdened), the other defined by tradition (some would say foolishly). That isn't to say the M6 doesn't corner and the 911 isn't fast (hold the flames, please). It's just that these are very charcterful cars with different personalities originating from different engineering briefs.
Another Euro Mag, CAR, did a head to head between them and highlighted this point. While the numbers may seem similar, they summarized that these are for different drivers. Which is further evidence why you should never buy a car on paper alone: They must be driven, experienced. Cars aren't spreadsheets!

there are always comparos between the 911 and the vette, so does that mean the vette now also competes with the M6?

M6 leaves Ferrari 575M F1 behind on a straight line. Ferrari slightly faster on track due to lower gravity point (roof is 10cm lower than M6, probably the same for 911).
Bimmer's V10 deserves certainly the engine of the year award !!!
http://www.autobild.de/test/ne...318ce
