I like the look of the new "SUV-style" model. It makes me wonder though... are they still going to build a Delica Space Gear replacement? I certainly hope so.<p><A HREF="http://media.mitsubishi-motors.com/pressrelease/e/products/detail1281.html" TARGET="_blank">http://media.mitsubishi-motors....html</A><p>The new grille looks OK... a bit bland maybe...

Out of the revised ones, the Sport Gear one looks better IMO.<p>But I still like the pre-revision Grandis more.

I think this is a move backwards...<p>The current Grandis looks so good. The new grilles look very bland, especially the exceed one. also the exceed bumper looks bland, i much prefer the round fog lights!

I disagree, I think the new facelift makes it look more tough and aggressive, which can't be a bad thing in a Minivan.

USA Doesn't like Mitsubishi, basically. I guess it would have low sales compared to mazda's 5, Chrysler's & Dodge's Caravan & T and C, and all the rest.

"Grandis Sport Gear"<p>WTF?<p>How does Mitsubishi consistently come up with the strangest names ever?

Thats not so new name, or at least they already have the MPV called Space Gear, so logically the sporty MPV/SUV crossover is Sport Gear <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0">

They've used the name since the early 90's, starting with the RVR mini-MPV.<p>IMHO it's quite straight forward really, since it tells you exactly what you're getting: Space to haul your sports gear in... <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/icondrool.gif" BORDER="0"> <p> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0">

pity that the savrin is too toyota-ish in the front.
and the jdm grandis is gone now ...

too bad Mitsubishi no longer sells the Grandis in Japan, it got a very nice exterior and interior (especially the JDM version, better than most other new Mitsubishis)

I'm disappointed to see that the Savrin continues to be built on the previous generation Chariot Grandis platform. Then again, the (current) Grandis platform is a one-off and quite expensive (read: low margin), so in some ways it's not a surprise that they have stopped selling it in Japan (where the Delica D:5 is far more popular and, being based on the Lancer/Outlander (GS) platform, delivers better profits).
With Mitsubishi having shifted their strategy to smaller cars, I wonder if there will even be a redesign for the Grandis (even one based on the GS platform). I can't quite understand why Mitsubishi decided to design the Delica D:5 for JDM only...???

and its harder to sell a 6-year old design anywhere, more even so in Japan. Hope that there will be a new Grandis soon.

as for the Delica D5, Mitsubishi exports them (including the JDM Roadest sports model) in small numbers to Singapore and Hong Kong. Don't understand why Mitsubishi doesnt sell them elsewhere. The Roadest is a cool looking van in black or pearl white.
