Wow! That's great looking I really hope this car does well - It's evident they're putting a lot of effort into getting out of the economical situation they're in now. This car is all what it should be - and then some. They could touch up that front a bit, but both the rear and the interiour are great, as are the general proportions and lines.

That grunder looks so hot and I even like the US galant. I just cant understand why Mitsu cant bring bigger models than Lancer to Europe. The only model in europe that is bigger than Lancer in Grandis, altough it is selling quite well.
Mitsus image is best in europe, and those different models of Colt are very fresh and cool, but they desperately needs that new Lancer and Galant. If they can design them nicely and the way that europeans like them they will also sell well

This is a nice improvement over the US Galant. I still think its too big but atleast it looks nicer and interior quality looks much improved. I think they should release this as the Diamante and make an all new Galant thats smaller and sportier and can meet the taste of Japan, Europe, and the US much like the Mazda6.
Supposedly the US Galant will get a facelift come next spring, new Outlander next summer/fall and the new Lancer will debut sometime between summer 2006 and Spring 2007(it should have been released much sooner but better late than never) .
Peter, I believe there was a Galant caught testing with a smoother front than the US in Europe so it might be released there...

It looks even better in person. Trust me. It is BEAUTIFUL.
Meanwhile, the Galant is just ugly.

Saw a black ASEAN Galant on display, it actually looks OK in black.
It looks the similar to the Black Galant Grunder below. In my country, it will be called "Galant" without the silly Grunder name attached to it.

Seems too much like the ill-fated Diamante to be successful in the US.

Whatever did happen to this Galant in the spy photo with the more subtle Olivier Boulay grill design? Is it a Euro Galant? I was hoping this would be the ASEAN version...

....but instead we will be getting the Taiwan style Galant with the more exaggerated Olivier Boulay front end treatment.

AM2
Don't forget that there is the Australian version of the Galant coming out in 3 or so month's, so that makes 3 different verison of the Galant. But the Australian Galant will sit on the platform codenamed PS41, which is an extended version of the North American platform.
The fist pic that you have there, look's very much like what's going around Australian Motoring magazines and newspaper's of what Australian Galant's will look like.

Well this is it - the much famed Magna replacement for Australia. I'm amazed I'm seeing pics of it due to all the hype around it here in Australia.

The Australia sketches look like they put a bolder front end on the the USDM Galant. Dodge Charger esque... I actually think the Galant that Australia gets will be the Galant the USDM gets for its facelift, because its do out for MY06 or MY07 and I doubt Mitsu has the money to give everybody their own Galant. I think they're trying to stream line the looks of their new models starting with the next Outlander, not only will the Outlander look the same everywhere it will also carry the same name in most markets.

The Galant-Grunder doesn't look too bad. Hopefully the U.S. version's facelift will look somewhat like this.

IMO the current galant's interior is acceptable but the press seems to be slamming it, and it is a very dark and gloomy looking interior (the black ones at least)
