What exactly makes an Impreza, an Outback Sport? If it the different color bumpers? It really doesn't look all the different from a regular impreza.

Guys, it's Impreza, not impreaza, and at least in the US, they have not changed the name. Maybe it carries the "Impreza Outback" Name in some other market. Here is subaru's website with info on the car:
http://www.subaru.com/shop/ove...SPORT

This is a second "Outback". I guess they're gonna' have to start calling the original Outback the Legacy Outback...

on the website, it's still shown the 05 outback sport, i think...and it's the entry level trim of the outback...
well in that case why don't we just have a thread for each trim of the outback...better throw in the LL Bean Edition
are they going to come out with out stand-alone edition with the 06???

Outback in subaru speak is a line of more "off-roadable" variants of existing models. They were originally named after their model and had the outback moniker attached. Now they are just called outbacks, no matter what model line they come from. The impreza based outback is the Outback Sport; the Legacy based models are the Outback 2.5l wagon, 2.5 XT wagon , & the 3.0 R wagon, sedan and L.L. Bean Wagon variant. Don't quote me on this but I vaguely remember an outback variant of the Forester (or a variant of the Forester kitted out like an Outback but without the name), that isn't sold anymore.

The Outback Sport is already on sale and the Baja (not Baha) was discontinued last year.

Subaru in Australia has kept the "Outback" tag reserved for the Legacey, badged Subaru Liberty in Australia, only.
In Australia, we get the Impreza RV, which look's excatly like the one in those pic's.

I sell Subarus. The Legacy Outback has always been called that, the Outback Sport was the 'entry' model. Its an Impreza with a mild hike in ride height and the obvious asthetics, not really much else. The Impreza is in dire need of a redo, especially the wagon. I don't think we've sold a single Ouback Sport this year(and I think only 3 05's total since they came out last September). Everyone goes for the Forester X base model for the same price. The new Legacy models and the Forester are flying off the shelves like I have never seen before, the Impreza has become quite stagnant, other then the occasional wrx or Sti. That rear styling makes the rear area among the smallest of all the compact wagon/hatchbacks on the market.

Why is the rounded portion of the tail light lens red on the left side and clear on the right side of the car? Did the cover fall off?

No, one is reverse light, the other is a Rear Fog light. It is common to find cars with only one of each.
