The Car Connection has three picutres of the facelifted DTS.
While it's not stunning, it does look much better than the the limosine and is a nice update of the current model.

http://www.thecarconnection.co...=8103

talk about disgusting
it is too unproportional and a bit strange
it wouldn't be as bad if they changed the side...it just looks like they stuck a new front and a new back on
the door handles are too old looking...there is no way this is going to compete
the interior is nothing special...same old looking caddy

how many times must it be said? this is just a refresh which will only last about 1 or 2 years until it is completely redone on a whole different chassis with totally different characteristics...IMO, the interior looks pretty good, and it shares a similar interior with the Lucerne...the exterior isn't great, but it isn't as horrible as the limo...and you're right Lexus Fan, they basically just changed the front and rear...like i said, it's a refresh...

easy now, its really not bad imo

it really isn't at all...I am sure it will continue to sell just as well, if not better than the current deville...

I agree with Ascariss and others, the interior looks great but the exterior is another story...
I like all caddy cars except this one...IMO, I think it lacks a little bit of the agreesiveness the brand carries...
It might just be me but this is the only Caddy I am uninterested in...sorry

The front looks quite good actually, but the rear is poorly resolved and not as good looking as the current one. The interior is great though; a perfect blend of what looks to be good materials and design. Looks like GM has also stuck in its new-gen navigation system and climate controls that will (hopefully) make it into the STS soon.

I really think the front end looks good, and the side profile isn't bad either. Thank God it doesn't look like the Presidential limo. But the first thing that came to mind when I saw the rear was the Chevy Monte Carlo.

Looks pretty good, but nothing to brag about. It's clear that this car will remain the 'geezer pleaser' of Caddy's lineup. IMO, they should've done more to the side profile. I like the front end and I could live with the back. Thumbs up on the interior as well.

well, it definitely looks better than the limo but it could be better. It looks pretty similar to my chop.
interiors nice but the car looks disporportional, they should have stuck the extended front lights on this

What is the car supposed to compete against?

Banker
02-08-2005, 03:52 PM
It will compete somewhere between the Towncar and Lexus LS buyer. I say that because the DTS is so much better than the Towncar but not quite up to LS 430 standards.
Needless to say, it will sell in droves.

GM did a good job here, the side remains the same, but i rather like how they massaged the car
beats the garbage 7 classe

The Deville was actually a fairly good car though, good looking or not, there is no question that this will be a nice car...the only reason they have kept it around for so long is because the older generations have been buying it and it sells fairly well, so they didnt want to lose those buyers, so until they come out with a ULS, they just refreshed the deville to hold over the masses until a ULS arrives...

Yes but you can say that on a lot of other cars...I think interiors are most new cars nowadays are quite similar, in some ways

GM made no secret that they had used Audi/VW interiors as well as Lexus ones to come up with a cleaner, bolder look.

I think that the DTS is very attractive. The front is perfectly chiseled and the back is big and bold like a Cadillac should be. They even topped it off with a huge wreath and crest. It is interesting, unlike that slab-sided,bug-eyed, old M-B wannabe, the LS.

I reckon the CTS and STS are a better design than the DTS - this one is a disappointment.

Nick
02-12-2005, 12:54 AM
of course the cts and sts are better looking, they are actual fairly new models coming from an entirely new design scheme, while this one is a very old design which was refreshed with some art/science elements...it's not going to look great...it isn't supposed to be aw inspiring, it is just meant to hold customers over until the new version arrives...

just because it is a refresh that much doesn't change my opinion that much, it just explains some things...
and domino
thanks for the respect
the door handle fetish is just something that is something small, but just like a car those evolve too, and i think the handles on the cadillac need some evolution...and I'm sure they will once they remodel it completely
and i respect your opinion too
