I think this will actually sell. Texans know which trucks are good and which ones aren't and they aren't all that loyal to domestic products. Have you seen how many Titans they got down there?

Every truck here in Dallas has a special edition not found in any other state. There's Texas editions of many SUVs and all full-size pickups here.

It was never built anywhere else but in the US.

This is just a one off vehicle. if you read the article you will see that this was only made for the event and will not be a production vehicle. It was a prize for the party.

How bout a Texans point of view hehe:
The Luchesse edition has been advertised at my dealers site, and the Texas Edition has been out for a long time now. The Tundra has slowly been making its inroads here in Texas. Titan has been way more sucessful here though, they are the "in" truck right now, even among hardcore Ford, Chevy, and Dodge fans. There are always those here that will not buy anything foreign regardless of whether its great or not (my grandpa), but then there are some that are tired of the problems with Fords and Chevys who would rather try a Japanese truck (my dad, who is considering a Titan to replace his F-150 and Ram). San Antonio Tundra plant will only further build loyalty from Texans. Its a weird harmony, but its working. Something about seeing Japanese businesspeople wearing cowboy hats is just so funny and yet it makes me want to buy their product hehe.
Also, they are offering a $249 lease on Tundra Double Cab here, not sure if its nationwide, but at least here in Texas. Very tempting...

If they ever make a production version of it though, I really hope Toyota makes tons of money on it. It would prove all of my theories...
