if you dont like the extra air intakes...then why did you put a different one on there...and please stay on subject. no one really cares what you think should or should not be on the car. the car is how it is.

The hood scoop seems to be functional.. I mean the airbox is directly connected to it.. and essentially you get less hot air dragged in
The brakes scoops are for heat dissipation, they seems to be functional too.. I mean for Z06 which is performance biased car.. you need to have the cooling for the brakes?

The car looks amazing. I just wish GM could have chosen a better design for the rear brakes vent. It just sticks out like a sore thumb. This is going to be a hell of a car for the money!

Hmmm GM deinied rumours of the scoop on the hood yet when I posted on the old forum about seeing the prototpye with a decent sized scoop on the front of the hood everyone was like NO way...... HA HA.
Actually the scoop on the prod. model is quite a bit smaller. I would say the one I saw was the entire front edge of the hood. Looks good.

well, I believe the seats are going to be different...but that picture doesnt really look right, and I am not going to believe it till i see the actual car at the auto shows...that steering wheel doesnt look right to me...does anyone else notice how the left spoke of the steering wheel is shaped differently than the right? it may be just the angle...i dunno...

I think the valve covers should say 427ci instead of 7.0L, what do you guys think?

$75k??!! Wow! That seems high when a very capable base 'vette is so fast and similar. Anything over $55k, and people may opt for a base vette and make their own modifications. $30k is just too much of a difference for such a similar car. These visual changes are somewhat minor. Save the real expensive mods for the Blue Devil!

Am I reading the Motor Trend part right, and looking at the pics right to see that the major chassis elements are now Aluminum instead of Steel? If so, that would explain the increase in price and the big loss in weight. (about 100 pounds less than a stripper base car)
EDIT: Did some more research (checked out a few other sites) and the chassis is indeed made completely out of aluminum and is assembled by Dana. Kind of a ballsy move for GM to make (at least the GM we're used to). I like it!!

Hmm 7.0l sounds ok, but 427 sounds better.

Some pics that show a little bit more than what's here already, though I somehow took the exact same picture as a few of them without realizing it! But yeah, one thing that hasn't been mentioned here yet are these lovely little flaps inside the exhaust pipes... they're closed when you're just motoring around town to keep noise levels down, but step on the gas and whoa baby, all hell breaks loose as the pipes are free to scream.

And this one... just can't get enough of this car, really. And the sticker was somewhere around $65k, not $75k, curious.
Cheers,
-J

*

Why would you give a 21 year old student the keys to something like that? You got to wonder about the person who handed this yahoo the keys in the first place?
