http://www.thecarconnection.co...e.jpg
Thanks to a sharp TCC reader, Pontiac's G6 coupe and convertible are no longer a big mystery. Terrence Robinson sent us this scan from the Pontiac brochure handed out at the California International Auto Show in Anaheim ('almost two months ago!' he says.) The sporty coupe will reach dealerships in early 2005, but the convertible will not make its retail appearance until the third quarter of 2005 as a 2006 model. The convertible, with an annual projection of 40,000 sales, will be equipped with a retractable hardtop, much like those on models priced far more expensively. No word on powerplants, but a V-6 with at least 250 hp is expected. Look for more on the G6s in our coming Detroit and L.A. auto show coverage in January.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The G6 lineup totally looks like a lineup of Camry/Solara clones/rip-offs.

What do you mean "Pontiac looking"? The ones that looked kinda like Camry ones?

Pontiac should come up with its own design, perhaps.

I like their release schedule: releasing the coupe in the spring and the convertible in the fall. I can hear the truck full of "customer cash" rolling in now.

What a coincidence, that's the reason I'm currently in balmy Rochester. :)

After spending more than four years there, today's weather in nyc feels more like middle of fall, even with the high only reaching 20F

Yeah that coupe rear end looks almost identical to the Camry Solara's. I know the older pictures made it look like an Infiniti, but I liked those better.

Agreed...Pontiac is totally ripping off of Solara.
BTW, does anyone know how the G6 sedan is doing so far, any market figures yet?
