the design quite ugly but the interior is totally lots of space.. 11 seat (soccer team should buy this MPV) but overall,i hate the design but the rear design quite ok..

I quite like this design, shape and styling.

SSangYong is a very young car maker, and one day, hopefully soon, they will learn that adding grey plastic with little square detailing to their cars is WRONG . They do it on the Rexton SUV to. NO SSangYong, that's a bad SSangYong!!!
The rest of the car is ok, Mercedes derived engines, good looking interior ( if a bit dated, but looks well finished ), 11 people fit inside it... is that even legal? just wondering. Think the European version will only ( ? ) sit 8 or 9 though.

Now I know where Pontiac got their styling idea, for the beautiful Aztek.

I've driven it for a few days. Despite its ugly looks, the 270 CDi engine courtesy of MB makes it a good MPV. It drives quite well for its size and being a diesel, fuel consumption is as heavy as a 1.8 litre petrol car.
If you need space, this is it. You can even have a bed inside. And most of the buyers are rich enough to have their personal drivers.
And whatever your comments are, it is selling very well.

Malaysia? One small market hardly an indication of how well a vehicle is selling overall. do you have any overall market figures to back up your claims?

This vehicle may sell well in it's home market but it still isn't very attractive. I'm not bashing the car, just stating my opinion.
Is it me or do the wheels/tires look small for a vehicle this size. Maybe the interior is nicer looking than the exterior, any pics? The white version with the mercedes typre grill looks better than the 2 tone grey/silver one.

Interior looks surprisingly nice, though a bit busy.

04-21-2005, 08:31 PM
Well, if GM fired the Aztek designer, I think I know where he ended up...

04-22-2005, 03:33 AM
did they take the original Fiat Multipa as inspiration, and decided to go one-step further?
The Rodius doesn't look cohesive at all, more like blocks stuck together.
Here's the original Multipla, just look at that interior! Motoring journalists said the interior looked like a chunky toy

The interior of the Rodius actually looks quite good, designwise and qualitywise

This thing has been out since late 2004 in most asian markets... I think someone should have moved this to the New Cars section....
I've seen the actual van... interior styling is ok, but the exterior is very busy. the worst part of the van is the rear half.

I agree with u,here in Spain it's on the road yet. Look those pics from k77 that DrPetrus post. That car has Spanish plates

i don't know why, but i actually, god forbid, like it. not much, but some. the styling is ugly, yes, but it's a hugely roomy car from the looks of it, and the interior seems quite nice. if it was ever sold here i'd still get a sienna or an odyssey first, but it's a good effort on ssangyong's part (although i don't know how they didnt realize it was so ugly; a new rear-quarter window could improve it loads)
