this is my first ever posted car chop, what do you think? I tried to keep it on the realistic side and not to over do it.
Here are the changes...
-Lowered it
-Tinted windows
-Shortened tail-lights
-Swapped front headlights from a Volvo S40
-Put on some sweet rims
-Made some nice new wheel arches
Heres the original

here is mine

I don't like these headlamps too much and we can see the place where you copied background to fill the place where the car body had been before. But well, it's your first chop as you said, and even in spite of this faults, it's still very good. Maybe try to be more original next time

Nice job for first go - fill those wheel arches and use higher-res donor imaages and your off!
BTW Axle, I visited your site and I am dumbfounded with your love of Volvo's. Let me ask, do you get bashed at school? LOL, jks man. Volvo's are getting cool now.

Yes many people do pay me out, but not after I give them a drag Cardomain is funny because that is the largest that pics show up on their image hosting. My donor image was 1024 x 768 (wallpaper) and the chopped pic was slightly smaller. I hate cardomain but my images were larger and the quality was much better.

I respect other people's opinions so that is why I do not argue about loyalties but when you bash a manufacturer unjustly it is wrong. Take a drive in a nice volvo, own one or even get into an accident in one and all of you haters with be converted. Predjudice is wrong people!

My family owned a 1995 Volvo 960. So I know first hand how absolutely shocking Volvo is. we had owned it for about 5 years - and for the last year, it was in the shops for about 9 months. Now, what can you say to that?

AXLE
01-14-2005, 11:08 PM
Please tell me how much did you guys pay for it?, how many Km's did it have on the clock? did you guys regularly service it? and why was it in the shop?

AXLE

Was it transmission problems? engine? components? The 960's where top of the line, sounds suspicous to me.

Okay Axle, first things first - calm down. I know it's hard to believe, but yes, this in fact did happen.

Quote, originally posted by AXLE »

Please tell me how much did you guys pay for it?, how many Km's did it have on the clock? did you guys regularly service it? and why was it in the shop?

I have no idea what we paid for it, I was only five when we got it, and it was stock as a rock - no options whatsoever. By the last year, it was pushing 150 000kms on the odometer. Yes, we serviced it everytime it needed one. And it was in the shop because of engine troubles.

Quote, originally posted by AXLE »

I still can't believe it, NINE MONTHS??? They said it was all fixed - the next week, there was a squeak or a bang, and this continued until we sold the damn thing. We actually went to the official Volvo dealer.
Really, maybe it was just one of a kind with our car, but seriously after that experience with a Volvo, I'm never going back, and will never ever consider one.

150,000 is nothing for a Volvo engine especially for a DOHC inline 6. My Family own 4 Volvos with milages ranging from 380,000 kms to 190,000 km. Specifically what kind of engine troubles did the car have?

And again, I have no idea, we had the car when I was in the age of 5-10; when I was still young and had no idea about cars or engines.

Yeah well you could still ask your parents couldn't you? I take it at the age of 14 you still live with your parents?

I could ask my dad, but he lives in Korea; I could call him, but I can't be bothered just to ask him some questions about our old Volvo, just to answer your desperate plea of getting to the bottom of my Volvo's dilemmas.

Whats the point of coming here and telling me that volvos are shocking etc if you don't even know what the problem with your old car was? Please! you have no arguement so I suggest you quit talking.

Top Secret

The point is, we had a car for 5 years, and in the last year, in the shops for 9 months. I think that explains a lot - I might not know what the problem was, and I don't think anyone would've when they were 10 yrs old! Just the fact that it was in the shops for that long must be reason enough to argue that Volvo's aren't all that cracked up as you say it is.
Ok, that's it, that's all I need to say; end of discussion.

AXLE
01-15-2005, 11:09 PM
Buddy I think you have conradicted yourself.
First you said that 'our car could have been a one off case' and now you are saying that because your car was in the shop for nine months all Volvos are unreliable. You just don't quit, do you?

Geez, I can't be bothered arguing any more. Fine AXLE you win - big it up, you won an argument against a 14yr old. I'm wrong and you're right.
I'm over it.
